Support

We are a small team, and we read every message.

Contact us

Email [email protected]. Tell us your car model and year, your phone model, the app version and what happened. Do not send your Tesla password or any tokens. We will never ask for them.

Setup

  1. Install Kovert Watch and sign in with your Tesla account on Tesla's own page.
  2. Approve the permissions we ask for. We request vehicle information, vehicle location and vehicle commands only.
  3. Add our virtual key to your car. Open the link in the Tesla app on your phone, approve it, and when the car asks, confirm on the car's screen with your key card.
  4. Send the test alert from the app and confirm it reaches your phone.
  5. Allow notifications, including Time Sensitive (iPhone), or set Kovert Watch to unrestricted battery use and allow notifications (Android).

Alerts not arriving

CheckWhat to do
Sentry Mode is onThe car must have Sentry Mode on, and be parked, for events to happen.
Virtual key presentOn the car, open Controls, then Locks, and look for Kovert Watch in the key list. If missing, add it again from the app.
Software up to dateInstall the latest software. Streaming needs a recent version.
Phone notification settingsAllow notifications and Time Sensitive notifications. Check Focus modes and Do Not Disturb. On Android, turn off battery restrictions for the app.
Car asleepThe Cars tab shows the last reading we have. Tap Wake and refresh (once every 30 minutes) to update it. Alerts do not need the car to be woken.
ConnectionThe car needs mobile coverage. Alerts cannot be sent from a car that is offline.
Still stuckEmail us with the time of the last event you expected, and we will look at our logs.

Virtual key

A virtual key is how Tesla confirms that you approved an app to receive live data. You can see and remove it on the car under Controls, then Locks. Removing it stops alerts. You can add it again at any time.

Subscriptions

  • Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscriptions (iPhone) or Google Play subscriptions (Android).
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, under their policies.
  • Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

Stopping access

To stop Kovert Watch's access to your car, remove the virtual key on the car and delete your data. See Delete your data for every option.
